Raffles Education Corp (REC) College is celebrating our 10th Birthday this year, promising an even more exciting journey for the year ahead!

Formerly known as Hartford Institute, REC College’s success in achieving unsurpassed reputation for its quality education stems from the commitment in service excellence to our students. Our accolades are a testament of the fruits of our labour and while we embark on the next leap, we would like to take a moment back in time to reminisce the efforts invested and sweet success that followed.

A year into its operations, REC College achieved ISO 9002 Certification obtained from the Hong Kong Institute as well as Singapore Institute in 2000. A breakthrough into E-learning was also introduced as the e-learning arm of the organization’s programmers, Elearningsp.com was established simultaneously.

Profits took on an upward trend and with soaring student numbers, REC College made its way to be listed on the Singapore Exchange.

In 2004, REC College was acquired by Raffles Education Corporation and the College was also awarded Singapore Quality Class by Spring Singapore. The business expanded to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia further strengthening its strong network of recruitment throughout Asia Pacific.

More exciting developments followed in 2005 when REC College expanded to Auckland, New Zealand and also attained CASETrust for Education.

The business grew rapidly and soon, REC College’s identity as a reputable private education provider found its way to our pool of international students in Vietnam where our first college commenced in Hanoi in 2006.

As the demand grew, REC College expanded its operations to the South and in 2007, a branch was established in Ho Chi Minh City. In the same year, REC College was awarded Singapore Quality Class for Private Education Organisation (SQC PEO) by Spring Singapore.

The branding of REC College further strengthened in 2008 where all the colleges under Hartford Institute were renamed as Raffles International College, Raffles Education Corp College and Raffles College of Design & Commerce in Hong Kong, Singapore and Auckland respectively.
